Desk booking that does not bill you by the desk
One fee for the room. Not a price per seat, per month, for ever.
The bill does not grow with the room.
Desk-booking software is usually priced per desk per month, or it takes a cut of what members pay you. Both mean the same thing: the fuller your space gets, the more you hand over. Fill the back room and your software bill goes up with it.
We charge a fixed monthly fee for the whole space. Twelve desks or sixty, it is the same number, and it is the same number next year as this year. Work out what you pay today per desk, multiply it by the desks you have, and compare.
Right now it is free. Desk booking is in preview, there is no card to add and nothing to cancel, and we have not set a price yet. We are not going to invent one on a marketing page either. For scale, the restaurant product is planned at £20 a month, or £49 for unlimited, and this will sit in that range. You will be told before anything changes.
- Nothing per desk. Adding a desk is a change to your floor plan, not to your invoice.
- Nothing per booking. No commission, no per-head fee, no charge for a member who books every day.
- Free while it is in preview. Every feature, no cap, no card. When there is a price it goes on this page, in figures, like the restaurant pricing does.
- No contract. Rolling monthly, no setup fee, no minimum term, and your data leaves with you if you go.
- One space per account. A second site is a second account, and we will say so before you sign rather than after.
Name your desks once. They are bookable the same afternoon.
The same desk every Tuesday
A day, a run of days, or a standing weekly desk. One booking, one reference, one thing to cancel — and a member who is away next week gives that one day back without losing the arrangement.
No account to book
A name, an email, and the day they want. No password, no app to install, nothing to remember next time. They get a confirmation with a reference they can read down the telephone.
One screen for whoever is on
Who is in, which desks are free, a fortnight at a time. Add a booking that came in by phone, give a day back, cancel. Staff are not limited to what the public page offers.
A desk that is booked cannot be booked again.
Two people hitting the same desk at the same second is the failure that costs you a member, and it is the one a shared spreadsheet cannot prevent. Every booking in Thezi goes through a single queue per space, so the second request is turned away rather than written on top of the first. It is the same machinery that already stops two diners taking the same table on a Friday night, and there is a test in the suite whose only job is to reproduce that race and prove it loses.
Availability is worked out at the moment somebody asks, from your hours and your desks, never from a grid built overnight. A desk you take out of service stops being offered straight away.
What is built, and what is not.
Desk booking is live and in preview: you can set a space up today and take real bookings. It is newer than the restaurant product it shares a database with, so here is the honest split rather than a page of ticks.
| Part | Where it stands |
|---|---|
| A desk by the hour, half day or day | Working. You set how finely your day is sold — whole days, mornings and afternoons, or hour by hour — and a member picks from that and nothing else. |
| A run of days, or a whole month | Working. One booking holds every working day in the span. |
| The same desk every week | Working. One arrangement, and a single day can be given back without cancelling the rest. |
| Booking without an account | Working. A name, an email and the days they want. No password, no app, nothing to remember next time. |
| Nothing double-booked | Working. Every write queues through one place per space, and the database refuses a second claim underneath it. |
| The staff diary | Working. A fortnight at a time, phone bookings, cancellations, closures and your weekly opening pattern. |
| Your prices, and volume discounts | Working. Publish what an hour, a day, a week and a month cost, and every booking is charged the cheapest combination of them — so a week priced under five days IS your weekly discount. No percentages to set, and the member is shown what they saved. |
| Confirmation and cancellation emails | Working. |
| A floor plan of the room | Planned. The restaurant product draws its tables; pointing the same editor at desks is a later change, and until it lands a desk is a name on a list. |
| Meeting rooms by the hour | Not decided. A room by the hour is a third shape, and we would rather build it with a space that needs it. |
| Open-ended memberships | Not built. Every booking here has a last day. A desk held until further notice is a different product. |
| Taking the money for you | Not built. You set the prices and we show your member what they owe, but no card is taken here and nothing is moved — they settle it with you, on arrival or on an invoice you send. Note this is a different thing from what THEZI charges you, which is nothing while this is in preview. |
| Door entry, printers, tabs and credits | Not planned. This books space. It is not going to be your whole back office. |
| A charge per desk | Never. |
Scroll the table sideways.
We would rather lose you here than on your second invoice. If a planned row is the one you need, say which — that is what decides the order they get built in.
Set your space up.
Set it up yourself: name the space, add your desks, pick the days you open, and hand out the link. It takes an afternoon and costs nothing while desk booking is in preview.
If you would rather talk first, tell us how many desks you have, how people book them now, and what your current software costs a month. That last one is the most useful thing you can send, and we will tell you plainly if we are not going to beat it. hello@thezi.app.
